Shivaansh Tyagi, ranked first in India in Taekwondo, is presenting a new challenge at the world level. His ranking globally is 53. He has been a gold medalist in the National Games. Now these days he is sweating in preparation for the Asian Championships to be held in Korea in June and the Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China in September. He has qualified for both the competitions.
Shivansh comes from a farmer family. Shivaansh, who is six feet four inches tall, plays in the 74 kg category. Since childhood, Shivansh was inclined towards Taekwondo. While studying in primary classes, he won six gold medals in various CBSE competitions. In many places like Agra, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Pune, Varanasi etc. in the country and abroad, Canada, Vietnam, Iran, Russia, United Arab Emirates etc. have shown their talent in many countries.
Farmer father Hari Kishan Tyagi and homemaker mother Monika Tyagi left no stone unturned to encourage Shivansh. The ideal person in the field of sports of Shivansh, who considers his grandfather as an ideal in life, is Mohammad Bagheri, a world champion. Apart from Taekwondo, Shivansh is also interested in Skating, Basketball and Table Tennis and has won many awards in these sports as well. Shivansh has been a pure vegetarian since childhood.
He has been playing Taekwondo for the last 11 years. They were ranked 53rd globally after reaching the quarter-finals at the President’s Cup in Iran. He won bronze at the World Championships in Montreal. This was his first international event. He has also won bronze in Jordan. He was highly appreciated in many world class competitions in Vietnam, Tehran, Moscow.
According to Shivansh, he wants to represent India in the Olympics in Taekwondo after the Asian Games. For this, they are preparing hard at their training center in Gurgaon. Shivansh has finished fifth at the world level in the Faujirat Open tournament held in the United Arab Emirates a few days back. Similarly, achieved a position in Tehran’s Fajar Open and third Asian Open Championship. At the national level, he achieved the first ranking in India by winning points from consecutive fights. According to Shivansh, in preparing for Taekwondo, he gets a good advantage of his imprisonment. They are taking great care of this in their training.
