According to some reports, a knife used in the kitchen was used and the door of the room was locked from inside.

After fatal injuries were found on the neck of former cricketer Salil Ankola’s mother, questions are being raised over the manner of death of Ankola’s mother, which is being investigated by the authorities. Actually, the door of the room where Ankola’s mother was was locked from inside. Their house help saw the situation, after which she immediately informed the police and their relatives. As soon as the information about the matter was received, the police reached the spot and immediately took him to Poona hospital.
However, the doctor declared him dead. Regarding the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sandeep Gill said, “We found the body of the cricketer’s mother Mala Ankola in a suspicious condition. We are investigating the case whether it is a natural death or murder. The picture will be clear only after the post-mortem. It will be possible till then we cannot give any assurance.” Gill further said that the police are investigating the possibility of suicide given the closed room and circumstances of the injury.
Salil Ankola shared the sad news through his Instagram post and wrote, “Goodbye mother.” Let us tell you that Salil Ankola made his debut in Test cricket for India on 15 November 1989.
