Court gave historic verdict against 20-year-old youth
A trial court in Bihar’s Jhanjharpur had granted conditional bail to the accused of molesting and attempting to rape a woman. However, while granting bail, the court had placed a condition before him that after his release, he would clean and iron the clothes of all the women of the village. Additional Judge Avinash Kumar, while signing the bail application of 20-year-old youth Lalan Kumar, also taught him to respect women. Please tell that the young man is already associated with the laundry profession. As per the court’s order, he will have to wash the clothes of all the women of the village free of cost for six months after his release.
As per the detailed information, Lalan is in custody since April 19, 2021. He has been accused of indecent behavior with a village woman. Santosh Mandal, in-charge of Laukaha police station said that on the night of April 17, the accused youth had tried to molest and rape the woman of the village. On the statement of the victim, a case was also registered against the youth in the police, soon after which the accused was arrested on 19 April.
The village where this incident took place has a population of about 2000 women. Talking about this matter, the head of the concerned Panchayat, Nasima Khatoon said that the number of women in the ward of which this matter is concerned is about 425. Naseema said that this is a historic case, it will protect the honor of women and people will think of committing such acts thousands of times. Regarding this decision of the court, the lawyer said that it is a kind of social message. This will bring a lesson to the society and no youth will repeat such an incident.
