The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allowed full capacity spectators in stadiums for the five-match T20 International series between India and South Africa starting on June 9. Board sources informed news agency ANI that for this series, the BCCI has given permission for the presence of full capacity spectators in the stadiums.
The BCCI had already announced the full capacity audience attendance at the stadium during the IPL 2022 playoffs. The pandemic is under control in the country. In such a situation, the corona related protocol has been relaxed. As a result, the BCCI has now allowed fans to enjoy the match from the stadium.
The Indian team will play a five-match T20I series against South Africa at five different venues, including New Delhi, Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot and Bengaluru. The series will start on June 9 and the last match will be played on June 19. South Africa recently announced its 16-man squad for the T20 series against India.
Africa have added a new face in the form of Tristan Stubbs, while Wayne Parnell returns after five years. Fast bowler Enrique Norcia, who has recovered from a hip injury, and batsmen Reeza Hendrix and Heinrich Klaasen have also been named in the squad. The team also includes players who have played in the IPL such as Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Dwayne Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Rasi van der Dusen and Marco Yansen.
Team India will also be announced soon. According to the information, other key players including captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah can be rested. Hardik Pandya or Shikhar Dhawan can be made the captain. Players like Umran Malik and Rituraj Gaikwad can get a chance in the team.
