New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party has announced the names of five candidates from Uttarakhand for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The party declared the names of its candidates from Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Almora, Nainital Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar seats.
The party has given ticket to Neem Chandra Chhuriyal from Tehri Garhwal. Tickets have been given to Dhir Singh Bisht from Pauri Garhwal, Narayan Ram from Almora (SC), Akhtar Ali Mahigir from Nainital Udham Singh Nagar and Jamil Ahmed from Haridwar.
Earlier on Sunday, BSP had announced its candidates for 25 seats in Uttar Pradesh. The party first announced its candidates for 16 seats and within a few hours released the second list and announced nine more candidates. According to the first list of candidates announced by BSP, Majid Ali from Saharanpur and Shripal Singh from Kairana were made candidates. Apart from this, Dara Singh Prajapati from Muzaffarnagar, Vijendra Singh from Bijnor, Surendra Pal Singh from Nagina (reserved) seat, Mohammad Irfan Saifi from Moradabad, Zeeshan Khan from Rampur, Saulat Ali from Sambhal, Mujahid Hussain from Amroha, Devvrit Tyagi from Meerut and Baghpat. Praveen Bansal was given BSP ticket. The party has nominated Rajendra Singh Solanki from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Girish Chandra Jatav from Bulandshahr (reserved) seat, Abid Ali from Amla seat, Anees Ahmed Khan alias Phool Babu from Pilibhit and Dr. Dodram Verma from Shahjahanpur (reserved) seat.
BSP released the second list on Sunday evening and announced nine more candidates. According to the list, Hem Babu Dhangar from Hathras (reserved), Kamalkant Upmanyu from Mathura, Pooja Amrohi from Agra (reserved), Ram Niwas Sharma from Fatehpur Sikri, Satendra Jain Sauli from Firozabad, Sarika Singh Baghel from Etawah (reserved), Kuldeep from Kanpur. Bhadauria, Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi from Akbarpur (Kanpur Dehat) and Suresh Chandra Gautam from Jalaun (reserved) have been declared candidates. Of the 25 candidates announced by BSP, seven are from the minority community.
Under the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, elections will be held for Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit seats of Uttar Pradesh. For this, nomination papers will be filed till March 27, which will be scrutinized on March 28. The last date for withdrawal of nominations will be March 30 and voting will be held on April 19. Voting will be held in Mathura in the second phase on April 26, while in Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, voting will be held in the third phase on May 7, in Etawah, Kanpur and Akbarpur in the fourth phase on May 13 and in Jalaun in the fifth phase on May 20. The Election Commission has announced to conduct Lok Sabha elections in seven phases. According to this, voting will be held in seven phases for a total of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. (Input-Language)
