It is surprising to know that even in today’s time people believe in superstition. Even in today’s modern times, people living in petty things are in this society. One such case has come to the fore where a father sold his own daughter to a Baba. In fact, hearing a case involving a father donating his 17-year-old daughter to a self-styled godman, the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court took strong objection to the observation that a girl is not an asset that can be donated.
Let us inform that while hearing the bail plea of Sant Shankheshwar Dhakne and his disciple Sopan Dhanke, arrested for raping a minor girl, the bench gave this answer. Talking about the sequence of events, both the accused and the victim lived with the girl and her father in a temple at Badnapur in Jalna district. In August last year, a case of rape was filed against both the accused by the victim. After the matter came to light, the accused were arrested. During the hearing in the court, the prosecution told that in 2018, a document in the form of a donation letter on a stamp paper of Rs 100 was prepared between the girl’s father and the cover. After this the girl was donated in front of God. On this, the court says that why did the father of the minor girl give the girl as a donation?
According to information received from AnyTV, further from the bench, Justice Kankanwadi said that a girl is not a property to be donated. This is a disturbing thing. Concerned about the future of the minor girl, the court asked the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Jalna district to investigate the matter immediately. The court asked to find out whether the girl needed care and protection. However, the court granted bail to both the accused on a surety of Rs 25,000 and fixed February 4 as the next date of hearing.
