The prices of bars in the country have come down sharply. In the last two months, prices have dropped by less than half. Therefore, experts in the construction sector say that this is the best opportunity to build a house.
The government has taken several decisions in the past, including a ban on wheat exports, duty hike on the export of bars, to prevent wildly increasing domestic prices. Their impact is visible directly on the market. The construction industry slows down in the coming rainy season, so the prices are also declining.
The prices of bars are going down almost everyday. The prices, which had reached a record level in March, have now come down to half. In March, the shirchi price of bars was Rs 85 thousand per tonne. In the first week of June, they have come down to Rs 45 to 50 thousand per tonne. Not only the local bars have become cheaper, but the branding of big companies has also come down. The cost of building a house has come down due to cheap building materials.
Sand, cement, bars and bricks are used the most in the construction industry. In fact, the foundation of any construction depends on the rods. After this, two months ago, it had reached a record level. The prices of many other food and non-edible items, including edible and fuel oil, also skyrocketed. In such a situation, the central government intervened in the market policies. Taxes and duties were reduced on many items, while duty was increased on many items to discourage exports. The government also increased the export duty on bars. Its direct effect was revealed in the form of reduction in prices in the domestic market.
