Tata Motors on Saturday announced a hike in the prices of its passenger cars in the Indian market. The company has attributed the latest price hike to ‘increase in input cost’. The overall prices have been increased by around 1.1% depending on the variant and model chosen. The revised prices have come into effect from today (April 23).
Though the company has informed about a marginal increase in the prices of all the models, it refrained from providing a detailed price list of its cars.
This is not the first price hike on Tata cars for 2022 as earlier in January the company had increased the overall prices of its cars by an average of 0.9%. It then issued a similar statement, citing a ‘huge increase in overall input cost’.
Meanwhile, the company is registering an increase in the demand for its electric vehicles. Its Nexon EV is also the best-selling passenger electric car in the Indian market. Tata Motors recently registered a record single day delivery of 101 EVs to the customers. The safari maker said that she was able to manage the feat during an event held in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.
The company has shared this information through its social media handle. The carmaker wrote, “Tata Motors has successfully delivered 101 EVs (70 Nexon EVs and 31 Tigor EVs) at a handover ceremony to customers in Chennai, making it the highest single day delivery of electric vehicles in Tamil Nadu.
