Mumbai: The most awaited film of 2024, Guntur Karam, directed by Trivikram Srinivas has been released. Mahesh Babu starrer Guntur Karam made a huge collection on the very first day of its release i.e. opening day. With this film, South superstar Mahesh Babu has returned to the big screen after 2 years and that too with a bang. Due to Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Karam, the release of some big films of this year has also been postponed, including Dhanush’s Captain Miller. But now, on the second day of its release, the craze among the audience regarding the film seems to be decreasing.
While Mahesh Babu’s film earned a bumper amount of Rs 41 crore on the first day, there was a huge decline in its earnings on the second day itself. According to the report of Secnilc, after the first day, Guntur Karam collected only Rs 12.16 crore on the second day with a decline of 70.56 percent. That means the film did not get any benefit even on Saturday. On the other hand, even on the third day, there is no special craze among the audience regarding Mahesh Babu’s film. The predictions of film pundits have also turned upside down with this.
Talking about the total collection of two days, the film has so far collected Rs 53.97 crore. Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Karam was released in theaters on Friday. But, before the release of the film, many films were a challenge for Mahesh Babu’s film. However, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Merry Christmas’, which was released along with this film on the first day, did not get much response. However, the audience who saw the film praised it a lot.
On the first day, Mahesh Babu’s film was successful in leaving behind Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, but on the very second day, the fate of the film took a turn. Now it remains to be seen what happens to the film on the third day i.e. Sunday. What response does the film get from the audience? The film had earned crores from advance booking and according to the report of SACNILC, more than 11 lakh 11 thousand tickets were sold across the country for the first day. With this, Guntur Caram had earned Rs 24.79 crore from advance booking itself.
