new Delhi. Amid the political turmoil over the Birbhum violence, a delegation of Trinamool Congress MPs met Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and demanded the removal of West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Talking to -AnyTV News after meeting Home Minister Amit Shah, Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandopadhyay said that the Governor is working against the constitutional system. Parliamentary democracy has come under threat because of them, so we have demanded the Home Minister to remove the Governor.
Sudip Bandopadhyay said that he informed the Home Minister about the swift steps taken by the West Bengal government regarding the Birbhum violence. He said that he also gave a copy of the letter written by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar in this matter to the Home Minister.
Describing the reply given by Amit Shah, Sudip Bandopadhyay claimed that the Home Minister assured him that he was not looking at it from a political angle.
