Popular phone maker company Realme has set a new record. It has become the fastest growing 5G smartphone brand worldwide. According to a Counterpoint Research report, 5G shipments of Realme have grown the most among other smartphone companies. The company has registered a growth of 165% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2021. Realme 20 has also joined the top 5 bands in the 5G smartphone segment of the global market.
Samsung-Mi beats everyone
With this growth, Realme has left behind companies like Xiaomi, Samsung and Vivo. Samsung has been the second largest grower in terms of global 5G smartphone shipments. It has grown 100 per cent year-on-year. Similarly, companies like Mi, Honor, and Vivo were on the third, fourth and fifth positions. Their growth on an annual basis was 98 per cent, 98 per cent and 55 per cent respectively.

Growth from these devices
This achievement has been fueled by the company’s expansion into Western European countries such as Italy, Spain, France, the UK and Switzerland. 5G devices like the Realme 8 5G and GT series have fueled the company’s 5G shipments in these markets.

Reality’s 5G devices have also performed well in markets such as the Middle East and North Africa and Asia Pacific. This also includes those 20 markets (including India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar and Singapore) in which Realme has been among the top 5 brands in terms of 5G smartphone shipments.
