Samsung Galaxy S20+ has started showing pink or green vertical lines on its display for some users in India. A large number of affected consumers have taken the issue to social media. Some of them have even posted complaints on the Samsung Community Forum. The problem appears to be limited to a certain number of Samsung Galaxy S20+ users. Some affected users believe that vertical lines have started appearing on their phones after receiving the recent One UI update.
According to user reports available on Twitter, the Samsung Galaxy S20+ display has suddenly started showing pink or green vertical lines, that too without any accident.

In some cases, affected users took their Galaxy S20+ to a nearby service center, where they were advised to have their screen replaced. However, as per user reports, the genuine replacement will cost over Rs 15,500, which is over 20 per cent of the official price of the phone that launched in 2020 at a starting price of Rs 73,999. It is also currently available through various channels for around Rs 55,000.

Many users said – the problem came after the update
The exact reason for the sudden appearance of vertical lines is unknown at this time as most user reports suggest no accident. However, some users claimed that the issue came to light when they updated the phone to One UI 4.01.
Company offered discount on repairing charges
One of the affected users on the Samsung community forum suggested that the Samsung support team acknowledged the problem and said that the lines appeared during normal use. According to an email screenshot of the support team shared by a user, the company has offered a 25 percent discount on the total repair charge of Rs 15,515.
Out of warranty devices affected more
As reported by Android Police, cases of vertical lines have started appearing on the Samsung Galaxy S20+ since August last year. In most cases, the problems are showing up on devices that are out of warranty. This means that users will have to pay a repairing charge to replace the display.
The problem appears to be limited to the Samsung Galaxy S20+ as there have not been any prominent users complaining about the same issue on the regular Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20 Ultra. It is also unclear if Galaxy S20+ users in markets other than India are affected by the vertical lines issue that has been widely reported by Indian consumers. At present, the company has not given any information on this matter.

This problem has also come in S20 Ultra
This is not the first time we are seeing Samsung Galaxy S20+ users complaining of display issues. Some users suggested a screen-of-death issue in which the phone’s display was developing white or green patches that got worse over time. The same problem appeared on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra for some users.
