What are the new rules related to UPI Payment (UPI Payment New Rules):
There have been many important changes for UPI users from January 1, 2025. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to implement new rules to make UPI transactions convenient for users. According to the new rule, users will now be able to send more money than before. For your information, let us tell you that RBI has approved increasing the transaction limit of UPI123Pay made for the users. Now from today i.e. from January 1, 2025, you can pay up to Rs 10,000 daily through UPI123Pay, which was earlier the limit of Rs 5,000. This change is going to give UPI123Pay users the facility to transfer more money.
The transaction limit on PhonePe, PayTM, and Google Pay is going to remain the same as before. Users can transact up to Rs 1 lakh daily through UPI. But for college fees and hospital bills this limit will be up to Rs 5 lakh. UPI Circle feature is also going to play an important role. The UPI Circle feature was introduced last year i.e. 2024 and will be implemented on UPI-supported platforms from this year i.e. 2025. This feature is available for BHIM app users. Through this, users can make payment to another person without linking their bank account. The primary user can set a limit on the spending of other users in this feature.
Through UPI Circle feature, primary user can add up to 5 secondary users. The limit per transaction will be Rs 5,000 and the limit per month will be Rs 15,000. It will be mandatory for secondary users to have passcode and biometric certification.
