Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, who faced defeat in the first assembly and then the Legislative Council elections in Uttar Pradesh, is happy with the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bengal and the victory of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The SP president has shown a big sign in the defeat of the BJP on all the seats in the by-elections.
Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday congratulated him and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by sharing a picture with actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Twitter. Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations to TMC candidate Shatrughan Sinha ji for his historic victory by defeating BJP candidate by a margin of more than 3 lakh votes from Asansol Lok Sabha and to the efficient leadership of Ms. Mamta Banerjee. ! Losing all the seats in the assembly by-elections is a big sign for the BJP.
It is worth mentioning that Shatrughan Sinha, who was once a senior BJP leader, recently left the Congress and joined TMC. Mamta Banerjee had made him a candidate from the Asansol Lok Sabha seat. During the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Mamta Banerjee had appealed for votes for the Samajwadi Party. She came to UP twice in between elections and shared the stage with Akhilesh Yadav. However, the SP had to face defeat in the contest with the BJP.
