Pramod Sawant took oath as the Chief Minister of Goa, 18 days after the results of the assembly elections were announced. He has become the Chief Minister of the state for the second time in a row. Sawant was crowned in the presence of several big leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. In the recently concluded elections, the BJP had won 20 out of 40 seats in Goa. Simultaneously, the party got the support of independent MLAs and MGP.

Apart from the PM and the Home Minister, leaders of BJP-ruled states including Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai were present at Sawant’s swearing-in ceremony. Apart from these, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also attended.
Goa’s name is included in the small states of the country, but it is a big hub in terms of tourism. With Sawant taking oath, all the five states which have gone through the election phase have got CMs. The BJP has won in Goa, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur. Whereas, in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party formed the government by ousting the Congress from power. Bhagwant Mann has become the CM in the state.
