The BJP on Monday also announced the names of the remaining 06 candidates of the Legislative Council. Tuesday is the last day for the second phase of nominations. The party has already announced candidates for 30 out of these 36 seats under the local body area quota. In the declared candidates again the inclusion of organizations and outsiders is visible.
If we look at the list of 36 candidates in terms of social equations, the party has fielded candidates from 16 Thakurs, 11 OBCs, 05 Brahmins, 03 Vaishyas and 01 Kayastha category. Efforts have been made to reach out to all the major castes of the backward classes. It includes castes like Jat, Kurmi, Gurjar, Saini, Yadav etc. No Dalit face is included in this list of BJP. At the same time, by announcing the candidates on all the seats, the party has also made it clear that no seats have been left for the allies.
After the government was repeated with a thumping majority in the assembly elections, the BJP is now making efforts to get a majority in the Legislative Council. Keeping in mind 2024, the party has given preference to the workers so that their enthusiasm remains intact. This is the reason that nearly 70 per cent of the tickets have come from the office bearers and workers of the party. General Secretary Anoop Gupta, State Minister Vijay Shivhare and Subhash Yaduvansh have been given tickets from the team of state officials. Subhash has also been the state president of Yuva Morcha. The party has not disappointed even the outsiders. In this election involving money power and muscle power, the party has also taken care of the qualification of being able to select faces.
