DigiLocker has crossed the 100 million users mark. It is a digital document wallet where you can store your documents like driving license, pan card, voter id, policy document etc. You can upload documents and keep them safe while signing up for DigiLocker account. You get a cloud storage space which is linked to your Aadhaar number.
No need for physical documents
With DigiLocker, you do not need to keep your documents in physical form. According to the government, driving license (DL) and registration certificate (RC) are not required to be carried while driving across the country. Drivers can show the digitally held documents in DigiLocker or m-Parivahan mobile app to the traffic police and transport department.

How to Upload Documents on DigiLocker
To access your Digilocker account, first of all visit the official website -https://digilocker.gov.in/.
Then, tap on the ‘Sign Up’ option available on the homepage.
After that, it will ask you to enter your mobile number and then click on “Continue”.
You will be asked to enter name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email id and Aadhaar number.
After this, a 6 digit PIN will have to be set. After that click on Submit.
An OTP will be sent to your registered number. Enter OTP and click on Submit.
Now you need to have a username. You can also keep your phone number and email id here.
