‘Get the land delivered, you are the owner’…Everyone was stunned to see what happened in the public hearing of the Deputy Collector in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The 80-year-old man pleaded with folded hands, pleaded and fell at his feet in front of the collector, but he could not be heard. The helplessness of the old man was that he wanted to get the possession of the dabangs removed from his land. Pictures of the helplessness of the elderly have also surfaced in the media.
Public hearing was going on in Shajapur and Deputy Collector Ajit Srivaswat was present there. During the public hearing, Badrilal, an 80-year-old Dalit, grabbed the feet of Deputy Collector Ajit Srivastava and pleaded for possession of the land. Badrilal had come to the public hearing along with his wife, daughter-in-law and grandchildren and fell at the feet of the deputy collector who was conducting the public hearing and started pleading.
He said, ‘I am upset, get my land. On this the Deputy Collector said to the old man, ‘Who said this, stand up to do this, it cannot be done in this way. The elder said that you are the God of my district. Elders have been pleading for public hearings since many years.
Let us tell you that these elders have sat on a dharna in the collector’s office. But the district administration is not ready to listen to them. The Deputy Collector also got angry at the media persons in the public hearing and stopped them from doing coverage.
what is the whole matter
Badrilal’s father Rama ji’s 2 bigha land of Shajapur is situated near from Krishi Upaj Mandi. The survey number of this land is 133 and the area is 0.41 hectare. Out of this land, one and a half bighas of land was occupied in 2002 through four fake registries. After that Badrilal appealed to the district administration but there was no hearing. After hearing, Badrilal filed suit in the Civil Court Shajapur and the Civil Court declared all the four registries to be void.
From then till today, Badrilal could not occupy his land. Apart from their one and a half bigha land, the Dabangs also occupied half a bigha of land. This land is priceless and today it is worth crores of rupees. Badrilal’s financial condition is not good and even after being so old, he is repeatedly pleading with the administration to get possession of the land but this Dalit is not being heard.
