The affordable sub-compact SUV Nissan Magnite in India has received an overwhelming response from the customers. It is through the success of Magnite that Nissan has registered 100 per cent growth in sales in the last financial year. Nissan India sold 37,678 units during this period. During the same period, the company registered a growth of 20 percent with export of 4976 units. However, Nissan India sold only 3,007 units in March, resulting in a 25 per cent decline in sales. Nissan had sold 4,012 units in March last year.
The Magnite remains the Japanese carmaker’s best-selling model in India. Since its launch in December 2020, Nissan has received over one lakh bookings for the Magnite SUV in India and abroad. Nissan recently reported that despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and semiconductors, Magnite has crossed the 50,000 units mark.

The Magnite SUV price ranges from Rs 5.76 Lakh to Rs 10.15 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has equipped it with two petrol engines: a naturally aspirated 1-litre (72PS/96Nm) and a 1-litre turbo-petrol (100PS/160Nm) engine. It gets features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED headlamps with LED DRLs and Auto AC with rear vents.

Mahindra & Mahindra sales up 35 percent
Mahindra & Mahindra has grown 35 per cent year-on-year in March. The company has sold 54,643 units of vehicles in the last month. Whereas in March 2021, 40,403 vehicles were sold. The company sold 27,603 passenger vehicles and 23,880 commercial vehicles in the domestic market. The company’s exports stood at 3,160 units in March 2022, an increase of 49 per cent as compared to 2,126 units in the same month last year.
