A Jaipur court has issued notices for appearance on March 16 to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and several other officials in connection with the alleged phone tapping case. Additional Sessions Court No-3 has issued notice to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Minister of Water and Ground Water Department Mahesh Joshi and others to appear in the court on March 16 in the alleged phone tapping case. The notice was issued on Saturday.
Apart from CM Gehlot, the court also directed former Chief Secretary Rajiv Swarup, former Additional Chief Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh, former Director General of Police Bhupendra Singh, Additional Director General of Special Operation Group (SOG) Ashok Rathod, SOG Police Station Officer Ravindra Kumar Bhuria and Chief Minister’s Privilege ( OSD) Lokesh Sharma has also been issued notice. Notice has been issued on revision petition filed by Advocate OP Solanki. According to the order of the court, the next hearing in this case is on March 16.
Case is also registered in Delhi Crime Branch
Let us tell you that Solanki had filed a petition in the trial court last year seeking registration of a case of sedition for making government records public during the political crisis in the phone tapping case of July, 2020, which was rejected. Solanki had filed a revision petition in the court of Additional Sessions Court No-3 challenging the order of the lower court. It is worth noting that a complaint has also been registered in the Delhi Crime Branch on the complaint of Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the alleged phone tapping case. Chief Minister’s OSD Sharma has also appeared before the Crime Branch for questioning in this case.
There were allegations of phone tapping of MLAs
It is noteworthy that in July 2020, the Congress had kept its MLAs in different hotels for a long time after Sachin Pilot and some other Congress MLAs adopted a rebellious attitude against the leadership of Chief Minister Gehlot. During this there were allegations of phone taping of MLAs, although this was repeatedly denied by the officials and the government. Meanwhile, the audio clip shared by Sharma had surfaced.
FIR was lodged by Mahesh Joshi
On the other hand, on the basis of these audio clips, Chief Whip in the Legislative Assembly Mahesh Joshi had lodged an FIR in connection with the conspiracy to destabilize the government in the Special Task Force (SOG) of Rajasthan Police and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). According to the allegations of Congress leaders, the audio clip purportedly contains a conversation between Gajendra Singh and a Congress leader. However, the FIR does not say that Gajendra Singh is Union Minister Gajendra Singh.
