Politics has once again intensified regarding the three central agricultural laws that have been repealed. After the report of the committee appointed by the Supreme Court became public, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has once again threatened a big farmer agitation. The report said that the committee was not in favor of repeal of agricultural laws. In such a situation, there is a possibility of farmer leaders to bring back the agricultural laws once again.
Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait tweeted on Tuesday, “Ghanvat made public the report submitted to the Supreme Court in support of three agricultural laws and proved that he was a puppet of the central government. Under the guise of this, if the intention of the Center is to bring these bills again, then it will not take long for more big farmers’ agitations to arise in the country.
The committee submitted this report to the Supreme Court on March 19 last year. This has been made public by Anil Ghanwat, a member of the Supreme Court’s three-member committee and farmer leader. Ghanvat said he had appealed to the Supreme Court to make the report public, but the Supreme Court had not responded.

Most of the farmers were in favor of agricultural laws
Ghanvat said that only 13.3 per cent of the farmers were not in favor of agricultural laws. About 85.7 per cent of the farmers’ organizations representing over 3.3 crore farmers had termed agricultural laws in the interest of farmers. Ghanwat said that the committee had recommended that farmers should be allowed to sell the produce to private entities besides government mandis. States should be given freedom to make MSP laws.
