The famous Chandresal Math Shiva temple, located about 12 km from Kota city of Rajasthan, is constantly losing its existence due to the neglect of the administration and government. The entire building of this one thousand year old Chandresal Math Shiva temple near the city has been damaged. The condition of the temple is dilapidated, the walls are cracking. Due to its neglect, the dome of this historical temple falls full of rain every time. In such a situation, the possibility of any major accident happening here cannot be ruled out. At the same time, the restoration work being done by the administration is going on at the pace of a tortoise.
There is fear in the devotees while worshiping
Built in the 9th and 10th centuries, this temple is unique from the historical and artistic point of view. It has walls around it and the river Chandloi is flowing on the bank, in which hundreds of crocodiles live. In the sanctum sanctorum and mandala of the temple, there are sculptures of Durga, Yama, Kuber, Varun, Vayu and Nataraja carved on stone. This place has been a tantric site of the Giri sect. Here the abbot used to be appointed from Banaras, in which worship is still done today, but the worship of the devotees is now under the shadow of fear. Due to lack of timely care of Chandresal Math, the rain is becoming a time for him. The building of the monastery is constantly on the verge of destruction.
Lord Shiva is the owner of 300 bighas of land, 2 crores are deposited in the account
Deendayal Nagar, who lives in a village near the monastery, says that it is not that there is no money to repair it. 300 bighas of land still exists in the name of Lord Shiva, who sits in the temple monastery. With this, Rs 2 crore has been deposited so far. Despite this, the monastery is crumbling day by day fighting for its existence. Although the work has started here, but his movement is still like a turtle. The main temple is also in danger due to the fall of its dome. Stones of ancient artistic style have slipped in the temple premises. The walls are cracking. One of the Shivling is missing from the temple, Nandi is damaged, the well is full of garbage. Sculptures and artifacts are scattered here and there. The situation is more or less the same for other temples built here.
Met the administration many times to save the temple
Devotees who reach this Chandresal temple are always apprehensive that they do not know when which part breaks and falls on them. The local people here have also met the Collector and Tehsildar in this regard. Several requests have been made to repair the monastery and the temple, but instead of completing the work and improving the condition of the temple, it is deteriorating.
