Maruti Suzuki is preparing to make a big bang in the Indian SUV market. According to a report in Indian Car News, the company is developing a new SUV Coupe. The codename of this upcoming SUV is YTB and it is believed that it will be launched in the year 2023. In this SUV, the company is going to offer a powerful hybrid engine, which will make it quite fuel efficient. Another special feature of this is that it will also meet the upcoming CAFE emission norms.
Sonnet and Hyundai will increase tension
This new SUV from Maruti can come in the segment above the Brezza. It will compete directly with the top end variants of Kia Sonnet and Hyundai Venue. If reports are to be believed, this upcoming SUV could be the production version of the Futuro-e Concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2022.

Based on Baleno’s HEARTECT platform
The Maruti YTB SUV can be based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform. This is the same platform that the company offers in Baleno. The company is preparing the new hybrid SUV especially for the young generation customers. Its sale will be from Nexa Premium Dealership. The SUV is expected to get premium high-end features.
Can get 1.5 liter K15B petrol engine
The Maruti YTB Compact Coupe SUV will come in a single petrol engine. It can be offered with a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine, which will be equipped with powerful hybrid electrification. With the help of this, the company is looking to offer better mileage in the SUV. The company is also developing 6 new SUVs for the Indian market these days. Of these, Suzuki and Toyota are producing 2 SUV models together.
