Members of the ruling BJP raised slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Modi Modi” on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in the Lok Sabha on Monday, the first day of the second phase of the budget session of Parliament. As soon as PM Modi entered the House, members of the ruling party stood in their places and thumped the tables. The members raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Modi Modi’.
The meeting of the second phase of the budget session of Parliament has started at a time when the results of the assembly elections held in five states — Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur — have been declared a few days ago. In this, the BJP has registered victory in all the states except Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won in Punjab.

The first phase of the budget session ran from January 29 to February 11
In the first phase of the budget session, from January 29 to February 11, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were held in two different shifts. However, this time due to the improvement in the situation related to COVID-19, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are going on simultaneously from 11 pm.
Earlier, the first phase of the budget session began on January 29 with President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to the joint session of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the Central Hall of Parliament, followed by the presentation of the Economic Survey. Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on February 1, after which the President’s Address and the Motion of Thanks to the Union Budget were discussed.
