Electoral strategist Prashant Kishor has predicted that it will take 15 to 20 years for the Aam Aadmi Party to become a national party. He said that any party needs to get 20 crore votes to become a national party, whereas the Aam Aadmi Party got 27 lakh votes in 2019. He said that till now only Congress and BJP have emerged as national parties in the country. He said that many parties in the country have tried it, but they have not emerged. This does not mean that no other party can become a national party, but it cannot happen overnight and it needs time.
Prashant Kishor said in a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, ‘In theory any party can become a national party, but if you look into history, it is known that only BJP and Congress have been able to reach the whole of India. That doesn’t mean that no other party can do it. But for this one needs to struggle continuously for 15 to 20 years. Such a change cannot happen overnight. Prashant Kishor said this when asked a question about AAP’s clean sweep in the Punjab Assembly elections. Regarding the popularity of PM Narendra Modi, Prashant Kishor said that even today his supporters are standing.
PK said on PM Modi – Popular leaders can also be defeated
Along with this, Prashant Kishor said that being popular does not mean that one cannot lose elections, as has happened in Bengal. After this he gave the next example of Akhilesh Yadav. Kishor said that Akhilesh Yadav’s meetings were getting crowded and got more than 30 percent votes, even after that he had to face defeat.
PK told, why BJP is winning even after unemployment and inflation
After BJP’s victory in 4 states, are unemployment and inflation no more issues? To this Prashant Kishor said that it is not so. The BJP has got 38 per cent votes, while 62 per cent people have voted against them. This means that only 38 out of 100 people of the country are with him. But the thing is that these 62 people are not united in terms of voting pattern and one party gets the benefit of it.
