Praising Gujarat’s development model, President Ram Nath Kovind said it can be implemented in any part of the country. In his address in the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday, the President said that the people of the state have contributed significantly in the development of the state. Apart from this, Sardar Patel and Mahatma Gandhi who came out of this state inspired the whole country for development. The President said that the way Gujarat model has been worked out in the last few years, it seems that it can be implemented in any part of the country and in any state. This was the first address by any President in the state assembly.
This event was organized in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly on the occasion of completion of 75 years of independence. He said in the House, “Sabarmati River Front is a splendid model of urban development. The relationship between the Sabarmati River and the people living on its banks has worked to promote eco-friendly development. This development model is also exemplary for other cities of the country, which are situated on the banks of rivers. He said that the people sitting in the House are representatives of their region and people, but more importantly, people consider them to be the builders of destiny.
He said that the aspirations and expectations of the people are related to the people’s representatives. Every effort is needed to fulfill these expectations of the people. He said that there can be no better place than Gujarat to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Referring to Mahatma Gandhi, he said that Bapu not only contributed to the freedom movement but also gave a new path, new thinking and a new philosophy to the world. He said that wherever the atmosphere of violence is seen in the world today, Mahatma Gandhi’s mantra of non-violence is remembered.
