Exit polls are projecting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the winner in Punjab. Something similar was seen in the 2017 elections as well. In the exit polls, the number of seats that different political parties won varied, but most of the polls were predicting that AAP will get more than 59 seats in the 117-member assembly. In 2017, some surveys showed AAP getting an absolute majority, but the party got only 20 seats.
In such a situation, people are taking the results of exit polls in a very cheeky manner. Considering that this time there was a pentagonal contest in the state, then the predictions may go awry. Today Chanakya has given 100 seats to AAP and NewsX 56-61 seats. Times Now Veto and Republic Survey are giving maximum 70 seats to AAP.

BJP getting 6 to 1 seats in exit polls
NewsX has given 24-29 seats to Congress, 10 to Chanakya, 22 to Times Now Veto and 23-31 to Republic. Chanakya has given only six seats to Akali Dal, Times Now veto 19, Republic 23-31 and News X 24-29 seats. At the same time, BJP seems to be getting 6 seats in some exit polls and 1 seat in some. All survey reports indicate that BJP will not be able to reach double digits.
Congress is claiming its victory
Out of 2.14 crore registered voters in Punjab, 1.54 crore (72%) cast their votes, which was 5% less than the 2017 assembly elections. Congress’ Punjab affairs in-charge Harish Choudhary claimed, “Our party will form the government. We will get a clear majority. People have seen progress under Charanjit Channi’s tenure as Chief Minister. The Chief Minister dismissed these speculations as baseless.”
