The cracks in the United Farmers’ Front, which played an active role in the peasant movement, are beginning to show. Recently, something happened during a meeting which was quite surprising. This meeting was held to decide the next phase of farmers’ agitation on MSP guarantee.
became two factions
During this meeting, two factions of SKM held two separate meetings at the same place. According to The Tribune, the Gandhi Peace Foundation, comprising front leaders Darshan Pal, Hannan Mollah, Jagjit Singh, Joginder Singh, Yudhveer Singh and Yogendra Yadav, sat outside the meeting. These people were opposing the people of the front who had recently contested the assembly elections. These leaders said that the leaders involved in the meeting have formed a political party. These people are no longer part of the United Kisan Morcha.
We farmers, happy sitting on the ground
Speaking on this matter, Yogendra Yadav said that even during the protest we did not share the stage with any political party. We are farmers and we are happy to sit on the land. Referring to Balbir Rajewal contesting the election, Yadav said that those who contested the elections should sit on the chairs. At the same time, Rajewal said that there are protests only on some issues. He said that many people Yogendra Yadav and Rakesh Tikait have also contested elections earlier and lost. Rajewal also claimed that he was offered the chief minister’s post by the Aam Aadmi Party.
Announcement of support for Bharat Bandh
It is worth mentioning that Rajewal’s United Samaj Morcha was left empty handed in the elections. Meanwhile, the United Kisan Morcha has announced that the nationwide campaign of MSP Legal Guarantee Week will run from April 11 to April 17. Apart from this, on March 21, there will be a demonstration in the Lakhimpur incident for not fulfilling the role of the government and the promise made to the farmers. On March 28 and 29, the trade union’s support for Bharat Bandh was also announced.
