The Uttar Pradesh Central Shia Waqf Board has given another setback to senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. The board has freed the Waqf property of the royal family from the possession of Azam Khan in Rampur and got that family back. Imam-e-Juma Maulana Kalbe Jawwad has been made a mutawwali of Lucknow’s Darya Wali Masjid, as part of other decisions taken in the meeting chaired by the board’s chairman Ali Zaidi.
After proving serious allegations of corruption in the historic Mazar Shaheed-e-Salis in Agra, the management committee there was dismissed and a new management committee was formed under the patronage of Maulana Agha Ruhi. Mutawwali was removed after complaining of financial irregularities at Imambara Ikramullah in Lucknow.
Taking major action in Kanpur, the managing committee of Waqf Hadi Begum Hazra Begum was dismissed. After a lengthy investigation following complaints received against Faizi, a member of the Waqf Board at Karbala Mir Khuda Baksh, Talkatora, Lucknow, the board unanimously dismissed him from the post of mutawwali. Faizi did not attend yesterday’s board meeting because of the action.
There the board took Karbala under its direct control and appointed Zaigum Rizvi, son of Gayarul Rizvi, who was the chairman of the former National Commission for Minorities, as administrator. A new committee was formed at Imambara Ansariyan in Saharanpur. After the resignation of Mutawwali in Imambara Sibtainabad, Hazratganj, Lucknow, Waqf Bachao Andolan President Shamil Shamsi was entrusted with the responsibility of Mutawali post for better management before Ramzan.
After the death of the mutawwali in the Sunehri Masjid of Farrukhabad, a mutawwali was appointed in the vacant place. On the basis of complaints received by the Mutawali of Lucknow-based Waqf Mir Daroga Wajid Ali, after investigation, he was dismissed and a new mutawalli was appointed.
The Managing Committee of Masjid Hasan Raza Khan at Faizabad Chowk was removed and a new Management Committee was formed. Show cause notice was issued by the board on the basis of complaints received in three waqf properties of Lucknow.
