A terrorist who killed an off-duty CRPF jawan on Saturday in south Kashmir has been arrested, police said. Kashmir Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said the pistol used to commit the crime has been recovered from the suspect and a case has been registered.
IGP Kashmir said that an overground worker who accompanied the terrorist during the crime has also been arrested. According to the police, the terrorist crime was carried out on the instructions of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh.
It may be mentioned that terrorists had shot dead CRPF jawan Mukhtar Ahmed at his residence in Check Chotipura area of Shopian on Saturday evening. The IGP tweeted, “We have arrested the killer of CRPF jawan. The weapon (pistol) used in the crime has been recovered on his spot. An Over Ground Worker (OGW) who was assisting him in this crime of terrorism has also been arrested.
Kumar said that this crime was carried out on the instructions of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh. He said that an FIR has been registered in the matter.
