The film The Kashmir Files, which shows the atrocities and genocide on Pandits in Kashmir in 1990, has been made tax free by the Uttar Pradesh government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave this order on Monday. However, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Choudhary did not like the decision. Giving advice to reduce tax on petrol, diesel and agricultural equipment, he asked what does it mean to make the film tax free.
Jayant Chaudhary tweeted soon after the Yogi government’s decision, “Reduce duty on diesel petrol. Reduce tax on farmer’s tractor and equipment. What is the meaning of declaring a cinema film tax free? When a user showed him a news saying that the tractor industry wants GST, Jayant said that he is not talking about the perspective of the industry but the farmers.
The audience is very fond of this film, which brings the pain of Kashmiri Pandits in front of the world. People are thronging the theaters to watch the film. 7 BJP ruled states including UP-Uttarakhand have made the film tax free. With this, the audience in these states will get tickets to watch this film cheaply.
