A case of alleged thrashing of two Muslim youths and uttering religious abusive words has come to light in Gurugram, Haryana. The police have started investigating the incident by registering an FIR in this case.
Gurugram Police said on Monday that two Muslim men were allegedly thrashed and religiously abused by two men. According to the police, the victims have been identified as Abdur Rehman, a native of Bihar, and his friend Mohammad Azam. It is alleged that the attackers talked about feeding pigs to two Muslim men and forced one of them to eat white powder.
The alleged incident took place near Ramada Hotel in Sector-45, where they stayed for a while on their motorcycle to Chakkarpur after taking some donations for the madrasa.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sadar) Aman Yadav said that a case has been registered at Sector-40 police station after the incident and police have identified one of the accused as Amit. ACP Yadav said that the police is conducting raids to arrest the accused.
He said the victims alleged that as soon as they stopped near the hotel a person came there in his car and asked them what they were doing there. Yadav said that as he told her that they had stopped on his way back home, he called another person there and the two started abusing and assaulting him.
One of the attackers took out some white powder from his car and put it in the mouth of Mohammad Azam. They fled the scene, snatching their mobile phones and motorcycles, the ACP said. However, later the motorcycle was found parked at a nearby place.
Sections 323 (causing hurt), 379B (dacoity), 295A (malicious intent to hurt religious feelings), 34 (general intent) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the complaint of the victims FIR has been registered. ACP Yadav said that the police have started investigation into the incident and hope to nab the culprits soon.
