Bilaspur News: State Women’s Commission Chairperson Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak says that there is a provision to constitute internal complaints committees in government and non-government assembly type institutions. If the Internal Complaints Committee is not constituted in any institution, then the commission will take it seriously and also take strict action. It is a matter of jurisdiction of the Commission and there is provision for action.
The chairperson of the commission, Dr. Nayak was discussing with the journalists in the prayer hall. During the discussion, he said that a letter has been issued to the heads of all types of government and private institutions operating in Chhattisgarh to form an internal complaints committee. Apart from this, to make the functioning of the commission more effective, it has been decided to run the Mahtari Nyay Yojana. For this, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given approval and consent.
The Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Nayak said that for running and publicity of the scheme in every district, Rs.10 lakh and Rs.5 lakh have been asked from the DMF fund. Durg and Kanker districts have given the amount. Till now the amount has not been received from Bilaspur. In such a situation, a plan has been made to start this scheme from Durg soon after taking time from the Chief Minister. Dr. Nayak informed that 40 cases were put up during the public hearing. In which 30 cases of Bilaspur and 10 cases of Mungeli were kept.
In these 15 cases, people from both sides were present and 12 cases were heard. Out of these, four cases have been disposed of. During the hearing, a case of molesting a female employee of a drunken junior engineer of the Electricity Department and demanding money has come to light in Janjgir-Champa. The troubled female worker has complained to the Women’s Commission.
Even during the hearing today, the junior engineer had reached a state of intoxication. The chairperson of the commission was also surprised to see his antics. He has written a letter to the Department’s Internal Complaints Committee to take action. Along with this, the woman has also been told to file a complaint there.
