However, even in this defeat, there are some reasons and reasons for happiness for the SP.
Big increase in vote share
There has been a big increase in the support base of the Samajwadi Party as compared to 2017. Five years ago, the SP had got 21.8 percent vote share, but this time it has increased the voter share of the party by 10 percent. This time SP has got around 32 per cent vote share. Even though the SP is yet to come to power, but the increase in the mass base is definitely considered a good sign for it.

seats more than double
The Samajwadi Party had fought together with the SP alliance in 2017 and both the parties were reduced to 47 seats. However, this time the alliance with parties like RLD, SubhaSP, Apna Dal (Communist) proved to be better for the SP. SP is leading in 125 seats till 12 noon. In terms of seats, the performance of SP has improved quite well.
Will help in boosting the morale of party workers
Samajwadi Party has got fourth consecutive defeat in UP. The party has faced defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, 2017 assembly elections, 2019 Lok Sabha elections and 2022 assembly elections. But with increased vote share and seats, the party can save the morale of its workers from falling.
BSP got vote share?
An important point of this assembly election is that the base of Bahujan Samaj Party, the party of Mayawati, who was the Chief Minister of UP for four times, is continuously shrinking. The vote share of BSP has fallen by about 10 per cent, while that of SP has increased by the same. At first glance, it is believed that the SP has been able to bring the scattered votes from BSP to its side to a great extent. It is believed that earlier a major part of minority vote used to go to BSP, which this time has come towards SP.
