Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav will leave the Karhal assembly seat of Mainpuri. He will retain his MP from Azamgarh. He will also explore his role in national politics. By-elections will also be held in Karhal assembly constituency if he resigns. SP’s Sobran Singh Yadav has won the Karhal seat four times. He had given up his seat for Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav contested the assembly elections for the first time from this seat and defeated MP and Union Minister SP Baghel. In the last Lok Sabha elections, the SP had won only five seats, including Azamgarh.
Akhilesh won Karhal seat by 66247 votes
SP national president Akhilesh Yadav had registered a one-sided victory from the UP hot seat Karhal. Akhilesh Yadav won from this seat by 66247 votes. Akhilesh defeated his rival BJP candidate SP Baghel. Akhilesh got 148196 votes in this seat while SP Baghel got 80692 and BSP’s Kuldeep Narayan got 15701 votes. Let us inform that in Karhal, polling was held in the third phase on February 20. Out of total 371261 voters in Karhal, 245071 voters cast their votes.
