Mayawati on UP Election Result: BSP chief Mayawati, who won only one seat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, has blamed SP’s propaganda for the crushing defeat. Mayawati said in Lucknow on Friday morning that if the BSP had got Muslim and Dalit votes, the BJP would have been defeated. He said that this election is like a lesson for us. There was propaganda against the BSP. I would like to tell the supporters of BSP that do not lose heart and have to persist. Babasaheb’s followers can never give up. I would like to say that now the bad times are about to end. We have tried diligently and even after that this result has come, then what can be worse than this.
Mayawati clearly admitted that BSP’s Dalit vote got transferred to BJP on a large scale and due to that she got a big victory. Mayawati said, ‘This time in the elections, the vote of Muslims was seen going unilaterally towards the SP. In such a situation, leaving my own society, a large number of people of Hindu society voted for the BJP so that the goondaraj of SP could not come. He compared this defeat of BSP with the condition of Congress in 1977. He said that in such times, instead of getting discouraged, we should try for the future. We have to work remembering Babasaheb’s life struggle.
He also blamed the SP for the defeat, which called him the B team of the BJP. Mayawati said that I thank all the big and small office-bearers and people of BSP, who have worked wholeheartedly. Mayawati admitted that the graph of BSP has fallen and it is a matter of concern for us. Interestingly, Mayawati has also admitted that the base of non-Jatav Dalit votes has shifted from the BSP and a large part of it has gone to the BJP camp. This is the reason why he openly said that apart from my own society, the votes of other castes of Hindu society got transferred to BJP due to fear of SP goons.
