In Uttar Pradesh, once again the saffron wave of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) destroyed all the efforts of the opposition. The BJP has now made a record of forming the government for the second time in a row by winning 273 seats. At the same time, the Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance was reduced to 125 seats. On behalf of CM Yogi, where this election was described as an election of 80:20, Muslim voters were seen gathering in the SP camp to remove BJP. In such a situation, you would also like to know that how many Muslim candidates have been successful in winning this election?
In the 18th assembly elections, 36 minority candidates are going to take membership of the assembly by winning the election. All these MLAs have won from the SP alliance. NDA’s only Muslim candidate lost the election from Swar seat against Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam, while BSP, Congress and Jansatta Dal Loktantrik won 5 candidates who are Hindu. There are total 403 seats in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. In this context, a state with 20 percent Muslim population will have 8.92 percent Muslim MLAs.
Prominent Muslim candidates who have won elections in UP include SP veteran and jailed Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam, who have won from Rampur and Swar seats. The jailed mafia includes Mukhtar Ansari’s son and nephews Abbas and Mannu. At the same time, Nahid Hasan, who is in jail in the Gangster Act, has also won from Kairana.
