The name of former IAS officer AK Sharma, who is said to be close to PM Narendra Modi, is once again in discussion in the politics of UP. About a year ago, speculations were being made about him that the responsibility of Deputy CM in the state government could be given to him. However, nothing like this happened then and he remained as a member of the Legislative Council. Now Yogi Adityanath is going to take oath as CM for the second time on March 25 and in the meantime the discussions of AK Sharma becoming Deputy CM in his government are gaining momentum again. BJP sources have also indicated that the top leadership is considering it.
A meeting was also held on Sunday evening under the leadership of PM August 2, 2021
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which discussions were held regarding government formation in Goa, Manipur and Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, in this meeting, the party leadership told what decisions it has taken after talking to the state leaders. Apart from party president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were also present in this meeting. The party’s central observers are going to visit these states soon. After winning big in four states, the party’s effort is to align the leaders of the states and prevent any kind of factionalism.
Even after several rounds of talks, there was a debate on the Yogi cabinet.
However, the most important issue is of Uttar Pradesh itself, where the date of oath of Yogi Adityanath has been fixed. But even now, who will be the Deputy CM in his government and who will get a place in the cabinet, it has not been decided. CM Yogi has held several rounds of talks with many national leaders including PM Narendra Modi. Even after this, no final list has come out. The most important question is about the future of the party’s OBC face Keshav Prasad Maurya. Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was the Deputy CM in the Yogi government, has lost the assembly elections from Sirathu seat and now speculations are going on about his future.
Speculation about Keshav Prasad Maurya’s future
It is being said that either he will be retained as Deputy CM or he can be given important responsibility in the organization. Sources say that the discussion of AK Sharma’s name in his place is also going on in full swing. In Uttar Pradesh, Home Minister Amit Shah and former Jharkhand CM Raghuvar Das have been made observers of UP. Significantly, BJP has broken many records by winning for the second time in UP. This is the first time after 35 years that a government has returned to UP. The BJP alone got 255 seats, while its allies also won 18 seats.
