There has been a constant conflict between Saudi Arabia and Turkey over whether to become the caliph of Islamic countries. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has consistently tried to make Turkey the center point of Islamic countries in recent years. The rift between the two countries had increased so much that in the year 2020, Saudi Arabia appealed to its citizens to boycott the goods made in Turkey. But experts believe that the relations between the two countries are getting back on track in recent times.
Will Turkey transfer Khashoggi murder case to Saudi?
Bloomberg report suggests Turkey may transfer Khashoggi murder case to Saudi Arabia. Turkey’s Ahaber channel has reported that Turkey may transfer the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi to Saudi Arabia. Experts believe that with this move, the dispute between Turkey and Saudi Arabia can be reduced for decades. Along with this, this move of Turkey can be criticized internationally by Recep Tayyip Erdoan and Ankara.
Court sought advice from the Ministry of Justice
A Turkish prosecutor handling the murder has asked an Istanbul court to suspend proceedings and transfer the case to Saudi Arabia, the report said. The court has decided to consult the Ministry of Justice regarding the matter.
Will the murderer only hear the case?
Khashoggi was assassinated in 2018 by Saudi agents at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. After the murder of Khagoshi, the US intelligence agency CIA investigated the case and found that there is strong evidence that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was behind the murder. Mohammed bin Salman was also questioned in the United Nations investigation.
