Giving information about the incident, the police said that the accused has been identified as Vinay Gupta, who is a program manager by profession. According to the police, accused Vinay Gupta contacted a woman living in Ghaziabad for a program. The accused asked the victim to organize a program and brought her to his home. On October 8, the accused took the victim to his home, where his wife made the victim drink intoxicating tea. The woman became unconscious after drinking tea, after which she was taken hostage.

The victim told the police, “When she regained consciousness, she found herself tied in a room.” The woman alleges that accused Vinay Gupta held her hostage for three days and raped her. Police say that the accused asked the victim to indulge in prostitution to earn more money. The complainant also alleged that the accused had also forced other women into prostitution.

“The victim somehow managed to escape from Gupta’s house and reached Tajganj police station, where she lodged a complaint on Friday,” said Syed Arib Ahmed, Agra’s assistant police commissioner (Taj security and traffic). He said that accused Vinay Gupta and his wife were arrested on Saturday. Police said that the matter is being investigated.
