Noida, October 11 (IANS). A health campaign was conducted for women living below the poverty line in different areas of Noida. Under this campaign, the health related problems of women in slums, government schools, villages and slums were heard and solved by the women doctors present in the camps. At the same time, these women were made conscious and aware about good health. This camp concluded on Friday, the day of Ram Navami.
This Navratri, while grand worship of Goddess Durga took place in many temples, Shewings Foundation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) adopted a unique way of worship. In Gautam Buddha Nagar, more than 11 thousand women living below the poverty line got the benefit of health services. Around 11,300 women were benefited in these camps at various locations.
These health camps will be organized at Sadarpur, Noida Girls Inter College Bhangel, Bhangel Village, Salarpur Village, Sector 10 Slum, Arsh Kanya Gurukul Sorkha Village, Century Apartment, Sector 100 Noida, Razapur Block, District Ghaziabad, near Chetram Sharma Inter College, Agapur. It was installed in slums, slums near Film City drain, Surajpur, Mamura village and Sector 12 Noida Government Junior High School and Gejha.
The purpose of organizing these camps was that in places where women are not able to openly share their problems and issues with anyone, they can get solutions to their problems from a doctor. Besides this, these women also shy away from going to big hospitals. Through these camps, not only awareness was spread but also affordable and accessible medical services were provided to women living below the poverty line.
Gynecologist Dr. Deepa Gupta, present in these camps, examined women related to health and also dispelled many misconceptions. Dr. Khushboo Jain said that patience and understanding is needed while taking care of patients, especially when the situation is stressful. Our team worked with this understanding. Dr. Narveer and Dr. Manisha Sharma involved in this camp have drawn attention to the mental and physical pressure on women at home. He said, “Women’s health is linked to the health of their families. If women do not remain healthy, the health of their families will also be affected.”
The camp provided guidance on early stage diagnosis of diseases, free consultation and affordable services through government programs. Along with this, pregnancy complications, PCOS/PCOD and other health problems were also diagnosed and resolved. On this occasion, Madan Mohit Bhardwaj, Founder, Shewings Foundation, expressed his gratitude to BPCL and said, “Our renowned social workers Poonam Yadav and Vibha Rawat have made thousands of women aware about better health. Through this effort, we are making ‘Healthy’ We are taking steps towards a ‘family, happy country’.”
