Lucknow, August 29 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that complete treatment of serious diseases is being done in KGMU. There is also a facility of PET scan and SPECT CT for accurate diagnosis of cancer. More resources will be increased in the hospital for the convenience of patients. Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak said this on Tuesday.
At the first foundation day celebration of KGMU Nuclear Medicine Department held in Brown Hall, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that new departments will be opened in KGMU. Steps are being taken forward in the direction of research. Resources are being increased for the care and treatment of patients. State-of-the-art equipment is being purchased. The system of medical studies is being made better. The government is fully cooperating in this. There will be no shortage of budget.
He said that KGMU should send new proposals to the government. The proposal will be approved as soon as possible so that better and modern treatment can be provided to the patients. Pathak said that the Department of Nuclear Medicine has done a great job in one year. Other tests related to nuclear medicine will also be started in the department. The Deputy CM said that soon the patients will get the facility of Gamma Knife in the state. Gamma Knife machine will be installed in Lohia Institute. The process of budget etc. has been completed for this.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Sonia Nityanand said that there is a lot of pressure of patients in KGMU. Doctors and staff are serving the patients with full dedication. Patients have faith in the doctors of KGMU. Continuous efforts are being made to increase the resources for treatment, so that patients do not have to go to other states for treatment.
