According to the Hindu calendar, Bhadrapad month is going on right now and the first Pradosh fast of this month is being observed today i.e. on 31st August, Saturday. Method of worship of Lord Shiva-
Let us tell you that on the day of Pradosh, wake up in the morning and take a bath etc. After this, start the puja rituals and first clean the temple thoroughly, then do Jalabhishek of the idol of Lord Shiva and Shivling. Now offer flowers, Belpatra, Bhang and Dhatura to God and make Tripund on Mahadev’s forehead with white sandalwood.
After this, light a lamp of pure ghee and offer kheer to Lord Shiva. Then chant the Mahamrityunjaya mantra 108 times using a Rudraksha rosary. After this, offer rice, sweet betel leaf, seasonal fruits to Lord Shiva and offer makeup items to Mother Parvati and perform the aarti of Lord Shiva and ask for forgiveness from the Lord for any mistake in the worship.
