On the occasion of Eid, a friend invited another friend for a feast. The friend, who came as a guest, caught sight of the gold and diamond jewelery kept at his friend’s house and he wrapped it with biryani and ate it. It sounds strange, isn’t it? But this incident really happened. The case is of Chennai. Police have recovered jewelery worth Rs 1.45 lakh from the stomach of a friend who came as a guest. According to the police, on May 3, a woman invited her friend and her girlfriend to the house for an Eid feast.
After the feast was over, the woman came to know that a diamond necklace, a gold chain and a diamond pendant were missing from her house. The woman suspected her friend and her girlfriend. He immediately informed the police that he suspected theft on his friend who had come to his house as a guest on Eid.
The woman lodged a complaint with the Virugambakkam police station, after which the police brought the man to the police station. During interrogation, the man confessed to theft and said that he had eaten gold and diamond ornaments along with biryani. After this, the police took the accused to a private medical center where doctors scanned his abdomen in which gold and diamond ornaments were found in his stomach. After this, the doctors gave the accused an enema to remove the jewelry from the stomach. According to Virugambakkam police, the jewelery has been recovered on Thursday.
According to the police, after the recovery of the jewellery, the woman withdrew her complaint and said that she does not want to pursue the matter further. According to the police, the accused had reached his friend’s house in an intoxicated state on the day of Eid.
