Washington: Even before the start of the Quad summit, the US has made a big statement about its growing power. China will be most upset on hearing this. Because this organization has been formed to stop China’s growing bullying from the Indo-Pacific region to the South China Sea. The Quad countries see India as a big counter to China. Therefore, India’s role in this organization becomes most important. The US said on Wednesday that the upcoming Quad summit to be held in Delaware will show that this group of four countries has become more strategically united and relevant than ever before.
“We believe that at this summit you will see that the Quad is more strategically united and more relevant than ever before,” John Kirby, Director of Strategic Communications, National Security Council, White House, the official office and residence of the US President, said at a press conference in Washington. Kirby made this remark at a time when President Joe Biden is scheduled to hold talks with the leaders of the other three member countries of the Quad (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) – Australia, India and Japan – in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday.

Kirby said that this would be the first time that the US President would host the Quad summit in his hometown Wilmington. He said that Joe Biden would meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese separately. Later, he would discuss with them in a plenary session. Kirby said that for the last three years, investing in the Indo-Pacific region with the aim of further strengthening America’s alliance partners and allies has been Biden’s priority. (Language)
