US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he had stopped turning the war between India and Pakistan into a “nuclear war” and threatened them that if the two neighboring countries do not agree on the ceasefire, they would not compromise a business and impose fees (tariffs) on them.
Trump made this comment on Tuesday during a cabinet meeting at the ‘White House’ (official residence and office of the US President). The US President also claimed that he spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Trump told reporters at the White House that many times it could happen that Putin is present and not Jailonski, but he tried to bring both of them to the conversation table. He claims that if he had not imposed economic sanctions, the situation would have worsened.
Trump further said that he also tried to calm the conflict between India and Pakistan. According to him, the situation was very tense during the time when 7 fighter aircraft were killed and it could also go towards nuclear war. He said that he had a conversation with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Pakistan at that time.
Trump said that he had clearly stated Pakistan that he does not want to move forward on the business agreement. His argument was that both countries can move towards war at any time, in such a situation any deal will prove to be useless. He also added that if he was forced to compromise, he would impose such heavy tariffs on Pakistan that it would be difficult for them to stand.
Trump finally said that now whether these situations may be born again or not, it cannot be guessed, but if the situation is serious, they will stop it. He reiterated that the world should not let such a situation go.
