Amid the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, the US has said that it will not be involved in a war that “basically we have no job.”
Vice President JD Vance said in a TV interview on Thursday that although the US cannot control India and Pakistan, he could encourage both nuclear -rich neighbors to reduce stress.
When asked how concerned about the possible nuclear war between the Trump administration India and Pakistan, Vance said, “Look, we are worried about the fact that nuclear powers do not hit each other and there is no major struggle.”
Vance quoted US President Donald Trump and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio as saying that Washington wants stress to be “less” as soon as possible.
The Vice President said, “Although we cannot control these countries. Originally, India have some complaints from Pakistan. Pakistan has responded to India. What we can do is to encourage these people to reduce a little stress. But we will not be in the middle of the war, it is not basically our job and it is nothing to do with America’s ability to control it.”
He said, “America cannot ask Indians to insert arms. We cannot ask Pakistanis to insert arms. And so we will continue to take this matter forward through diplomatic mediums. Our hope and expectation is that it will not change any broad regional war or, God, but of course, we are worried about these things. But I think that I think the work of India and Pakistan is to ensure that the work of India and Pakistan is ensured that the work of India and Pakistan is ensured If this does not become a nuclear war, it will definitely be destructive.
Vance, second woman Usha Vance and her three children were on their first official visit to India, when 26 people were killed by militants in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, most of which were tourists.
Two weeks after the attack, India started Operation Sindoor on Wednesday, under which the terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir was targeted.
On Thursday night, India thwarted the Pakistani Army’s attempt to attack with missiles and drones at military bases at Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur and some other places, while tension between the two countries has increased between fears of comprehensive military conflict.
After the Indian Army thwarted Pakistani efforts, the Ministry of Defense said that India is “fully prepared to protect its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people”.
Earlier on Thursday, External Affairs Minister Rubio spoke separately to India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and stressed the need to reduce stress immediately.
In a conversation with Jaishankar, Rubio expressed US support for direct talks between India and Pakistan and encouraged to make continuous efforts to improve communication.
He repeated his condolences to the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam and reiterated the US commitment to work with India in the fight against terrorism. In his conversation with Sharif, Rubio reiterated the call from Pakistan to take concrete steps to terrorist groups to stop any kind of support.
