Gunbermen attacked police check post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (symbolic photo)
Peshawar: A police ‘check post’ (check post) was attacked by gunmen on Thursday morning in the northwest region of Pakistan, killing three policemen and five injured. The police have given information about this attack. Police said heavy -armed attackers opened fire at the brave sports check post in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The attacking attackers
Police said the injured policemen have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital in Karak. However, three seriously injured policemen have been shifted to Peshawar. The police officer of the district said that the attackers escaped from the spot after retaliation by the police. He said that after this incident a heavy police force reached the spot and a search operation has been started to catch the culprits. The official said that after the incident, security measures have been increased in the entire area.
Nobody took responsibility for the attack
According to the news agency ‘Associated Press’ (AP), no organization has taken responsibility for this attack yet. According to this, Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and expressed his condolences to the family members of the slain policemen. He has blamed the Pakistani Taliban for this attack. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has condemned the attack. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stressed the need to abolish Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) last month. (Language)
