Dhaka: A big news is coming out in the attempt case of kidnapping and murder of son of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son. According to the information, a Bangladesh court acquitted the editor of a leading newspaper on Monday in a case related to the failed conspiracy of kidnapping and murder of Sajib Vajed Joy, son of Operated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in 2015. According to the news of the Daily Star Newspaper, the fourth additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Dhaka, Tariq Aziz, accepted the verdict and accepted the appeal against Mahmudur Rahman’s conviction and punishment in the case.
The judge said that the allegations against the appellant were found to be false and concocted. The judge said in his order that the sentence given to him by the lower court is canceled and acquitted to the appellant. After the verdict, Dainik Amar Desh editor Mahmudur told reporters that he had finally received justice from the court and will continue his fight against fascism, which is also the struggle of the country. On August 17 last year, he was sentenced to seven years imprisonment by a Dhaka court in his absence.

Senior journalist Shafiq Rahman, Vice President of the ethnicist Socio Cultural Organization, Mohammad Ullah Mamun, his son Rizvi Ahmed Caesar and America -based businessman Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan were also sentenced to seven years in jail in his absence in the same case. Mahmudur returned to Bangladesh after spending five and a half years of exile on 27 September last year. Two days later, he surrendered before the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Dhaka and was sent to jail.
The case was registered on August 3, 2015 and after that Mahmudur and Shafiq Rahman were arrested. The newspaper said that according to the complaint, senior leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party of Mamoon and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia had allegedly held a meeting to plot the kidnapping and murder of Joy at various places in Britain, America and Bangladesh. Joy was the advisor of Sheikh Hasina at that time. (Language)
