US President Donald Trump has said that congenital citizenship was mainly for slaves, not for the “coming and crowds” of the people from all over the world.
Trump passed an executive order against congenital citizenship on the very first day of his term, which was canceled by a federal court in Seattle the next day.
Trump has said that he will appeal against it. He hoped on Thursday that the Supreme Court would give a verdict in his favor.
Trump told reporters at the Oval Office of the White House, “If you look back, the congenital citizenship was for the children of slaves. This did not mean that the whole world came and crowd America. ”
He said, “Everyone is coming. Completely unqualified people are coming, whose children are probably disqualified. He (of congenital citizenship) did not mean this. ” He said, “I think we will win in the Supreme Court. According to me we will win in this matter. “
The Immigration Study Center estimates that in 2023, 2,25,000 to 2,50,000 children were born from illegal immigrants.
